This is a must have program for any organization that works with youth. Mr. Allen is very innovative in his approach and he is able to capture the young men in our program's attention , which is very hard for the population we serve. Our youth are at risk and considered unreachable. But Breaking the Chains is able to meet are youth where they are in life and make a difference. I highly recommend this program and would love to see it in the school systems.

Mr. Allen's book "Breaking the Chains" trully supports that the ultimate measure of a man's success is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands in times of challenge and contorversy. A story told in which he was able to examine fragile thought without breaking it and explore an explosive topic without fear. A touching and inspiring book to read. Continue to help others break chains........Reach One, Teach One :)

Breaking the Chain was and inspirational book that shows positive can come out of a negative situation. It proves to youth as well as adults that no matter what the odds are in your life, any challenges placed before you can be conquered.
So many times we use situations that are placed before us as a crutch, Mr. Allen however has put back in the community, and our youth what he was deprived of as a youth. I also had the privilige of sending my son, and daughter to Breaking The Chains Summer Seminar 2011. They learned street smarts, being respectful, and healthy habits, to name a few. My children was eager to go to camp, and loved the staff. Thanks for the experience you have given to my children and good luck in your future endeavors.

I NEED A COPY OF THE BOOK TO GIFT TO SOMEONE...on to another serious note: I have know Roberto for a while and I am so very proud to say I do! I am truly inspired by the man he has become and continues to grow into. As a single mother of a son, I desire for my son to be surrounded with positive role models, especially males, because I know that he will face trials & tribulations as he grows. I desire for his foundation to continue to grow stronger so when he faces opposition, he will move past it with such ease and class that others who may not have the support system he does will take notice and learn, that he be able to pour into others at every stage of his life. I thank Roberto, and other men who are doing similar things in their respective communities to give our young people a safe place, the tools to better themselves and for sharing of their personal testimonies to keep us all connected. Thank you! *please do let me know about obtaining another book so I can gift it to another.

Heart of A Champion - Breaking the Chains is a very inspring read. It tells of a young man faced with adversity, and the steps taken to overcome the obstacles. I would encourage every young man faced with any sort of challenge in today's society, to get a copy. Too many times, our youth are told that they can't make it, but this story will tell and show you that you can... All you have to do is have the Heart of A Champion!! "Heart of a Champion-Breaking the Chains" is motivating, inspirational, as well as entertaining. Motivation to push forward regardless of the many obstacles life throws at you. Inspiration through knowing you are not alone. You can become "somebody" when the world outcast you as a "nobody". And of course, I enjoyed the moments of laughter he shared, that we all still experience even when going through hard times. This is a book everyone can relate to on any age level. I would recommend it, as a must read. Through reading this book I learned to be and remain "humble" and "grateful". Thanks Berdo for sharing your story! =)

I've known Roberto since he was around 7 or 8 years old. From knowing him personally, he always respected others while doing the extra things to stand out in front of everyone. Roberto was always a thinking on how to be number one,(playing games, drawing, spelling, becoming president of clubs, etc...). Also, he took it personally if he did not achieve his goal. I believe his personal background strived him to become who he is today; "A winner!" It's been a pleasure of knowing Roberto since my days at the LeBlond Boys/Girls Club.
